A while back I asked what people might like to read and one response was what ‘a typical day in Prague’ might look like for us.
We had a long weekend which I did not know about as my work didn’t mention it at all- it was a fantastic surprise. But I was ashamed I was not more aware as it has emotionally charged and historical significance: it is the public holiday to commemorate the fall of communism in CZ. There was very little activity in the town centre to mark this event that we and I read murmurings online that the deep-rooted and polarised feelings about the fall of communism here is the reason. It turned out that in fact we were just at the wrong place at the wrong time all day.
Anyway, we got an extra family day, and it was a good thing too as we tried to go to the Thai temple on Sunday, and found that it has moved! So Monday began with a trip a little way out of town. I’ll try to give you then, ‘a day in the life’, lesbians-and-their-twins-in-Prague style (although you will spot from outfits that I cheated and combined a few days- but any weekend in Prague can involve some or all such activities). Enjoy!
